Glyndwr's Way (Knighton to Welshpool, passing through Llanidloes) - distance: 135 m/217km
The 135 m/217km trail is a long distance walk which can be enjoyed as a continuous journey, typically taking around nine days, or over a series of weekend or day trips. Along the Trail are some of the finest landscape features in Wales including the tranquil Radnorshire Hills, the shores of the Clywedog Reservoir and heather clad Plynlimon.
Severn Way (Source of the River Severn taking in several counties & ending in Bristol) - distance: 223.9m/360.3Km
A long distance trail taking you from river source to the open sea. During its early stages this waymarked route winds down from the Pumlumon hills through the heart of the Hafren Forest, making its way through Llanidloes and onward amongst the beautiful Montgomeryshire scenery. If undertaking the whole route in stages, you would eventually complete in Bristol city centre.
Wye Valley Walk (Hafren Forest, Llanidloes to Chepstow) - distance: 136m/218km
Follows the River Wye through the Welsh-English borders from its source then as it meanders across Powys, Worcestershire, Herefordshire & Gloucestershire.
Sarn Sabrina Walk - distance: 25m/40km
The Sarn Sabrina Walk is both an annual one-day challenge walking event held on the last Saturday in May and a trail that can be walked over a number of days for you to savour the highlights that the route encompasses – Llanidloes, Llyn Clywedog, the Hafren Forest and the Source of the River Severn.

The Hafren Forest
The Forest takes its name from Afon Hafren (River Severn) which rises in a deep, blanket-peat bog, 800m outside its boundary, high above, on the slopes of Pumlumon. Walks & facilities in the Forest include - All ability Cascades Walk*. Source of Severn Trail. Blaenhafren Falls Trail. Severn Break its Neck Trail. Riverside Picnic Sites. Toilets - Easter to October.
*The half-mile long Cascades Trail, which takes visitors along the River Severn to picturesque cascades, has 100m of boardwalk, fitted with a new anti-slip surface. The trail, which was designed in partnership with local disabled associations, is easy to follow with resting places and a raised platform, allowing people to sit and take in the view.
